On Sunday the 17th of May, I will begin a journey, a journey like no other, a journey I am making to raise money for cancer research but more importantly, I'm doing it for you, I will be walking approximately 110 miles, along our beautiful canals to Manchester, however there is a somewhat large twist, I will be doing every step of the 110 miles with 2 x 20kg kettle bells, one in each hand, it will take me around 12 days to get there doing approximately 10 miles per day, I have hired a narrow boat that I will be using as my support vessel, ABC boat hire from Wrenbury have been extremely supportive and helpful in accommodating me so that I will have somewhere to rest and sleep along the way, I have been training hard since the start of the year at Core Gym in Oswestry with the support of my friend Claire who happens to be an excellent personal trainer and I can assure you, there are no easy workouts when I step through the doors of my gym
Why am I Doing this? This June it will be 4 years since I lost my incredible father to cancer, the most kind and amazing Dad I could have ever wished for, I've also lost my uncle Chris, my Cousin Catherine's lost her wonderful husband Simon, and my old friend Laura because of this abhorrent disease, they will be constantly in my thoughts as I'm making this journey but they are not the reason that I am doing this, it's too late for them, I'm doing this... for you, for your family, your friends, the people that you love and care about, i would walk a thousand miles if I knew it would save just one of you, so please, follow my journey, and support me over the coming weeks by spreading the word, donating what ever you can, this is not going to be easy but to me, you are all worth every. Single. Step.
